It’s not the biggest tech scene, but Colorado’s unique mix of research, policy, companies, mountains, and people work together to make it a major climate hub. This newsletter is an independent roundup of community-submitted climate events in the Colorado Front Range area and is not associated with any specific company or group.

Cleantech Open Denver Kick-Off Event

Carbon Management Workshop

🕔 WHEN: Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM

📍WHERE: Pueblo Community College - The PEAK, Pueblo, CO

Hosted by Climate Now and sponsored by the Department of Energy, this event will feature a series of educational sessions and discussions designed to inform and engage local communities on the topic of carbon management.
The event is an opportunity to ask questions about carbon management and what role it could play in local and global decarbonization strategies. It’s also an opportunity to hear and learn from others’ perspectives on carbon management in Pueblo and Southern Colorado.
The event will focus on how carbon management projects get developed, and how local community stakeholders living in Pueblo and the Southern Colorado region can engage and participate in the project development process. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.

Sustainability Fair 2024

Join us for the Sustainability Fair to celebrate Earth Day early!
We've invited vendors from all over the Denver metro area to come to the museum and share ideas and opportunities on more sustainable ways of living. Vendors for this year's fair include Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center (Jack’s Solar Garden), Waxie Sanitary Supply, Green Team Academy, DAR – Regenerative Landscapes Permaculture, Green Latinos, City of Denver, Spirit of the Sun, Farm & Market – Urban Hydroponic Gardening, Ridwell, Moms Clean Air Force, Compost Colorado, Denver Zoo, and Denver Botanic Gardens.

XIII Americas Latino Eco Festival: The Giving Tree Equity Summit

🕔 WHEN: Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

On the 13th editon of the award winning Americas Latino Eco Festival (ALEF) we celebrate the 15th year anniversary of our mother nonprofit Americas for Conservation and the Arts (AFC+A) and invite you to join us in a one-day tree equity summit hosted and led by Latinos. We are convening an impactful intersectional and diverse coalition of leaders to explore together how best to advance tree equity in urban forestry through a climate justice lens.
By focusing on tree equity and the impact on marginalized communities, ALEF aims to foster collaboration, raise awareness, and inspire action.

Are you interested in a long-term volunteer commitment with the Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center? This could look like leading public tours, helping us at events, participating in on-farm activities or even providing support with fundraising activities. If so, please join us for this volunteer training day where you can learn about the history of Jack's Solar Garden, what agrivoltaics even are, and what exciting research activities we have onsite. This is a great opportunity to join the team and meet fellow volunteers. Lunch will be provided.

CU Boulder Annual Campus Sustainability Summit

The 31st annual Campus Sustainability Summit invites faculty, staff and students to share, learn and celebrate CU Boulder’s wide array of sustainability leadership and accomplishments and rise to the challenges posed by the Campus Call to Climate Action. 
In collaboration with campus partners, CU Environmental Center has produced a Campus Sustainability Summit annually or semi-annually since 1994 for the campus community. The Campus Sustainability Summit and the Campus Sustainability Awards program are sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Infrastructure and Sustainability, and the CUSG Environmental Center. The Summit is open to all CU Boulder students, faculty, and staff and community members.
